After founding his high school’s Engineering Club, Brady’s inspiration to create STEM Discovery came from a desire to open doors in science and technology for younger students, particularly those in underserved communities. With a deep-rooted passion for problem-solving and analytical thinking, Brady realized early on that STEM fields offer transformative paths to address global challenges. This led him to establish STEM Discovery, a non-profit organization dedicated to sparking interest in STEM through hands-on activities and mentorship. Working with high school and college volunteers, Brady aimed to foster curiosity and build foundational skills in science and engineering for elementary and middle school students, empowering them to see a future where they can lead in innovation.
Kevin Dunlap
Founder and Secretary
Kevin Dunlap, co-founder and secretary of STEM Discovery, is driven by a passion for technology and a vision of a future where innovation solves critical societal challenges. With a keen interest in a technology-focused career, Kevin immediately realized the power of STEM Discovery as a way to inspire young students to pursue paths in science and engineering. Through his leadership, Kevin has helped bridge the gap between young students and the possibilities of a tech-driven future, bringing mentorship and resources to students who might not otherwise have access to them.
Sofia Pescatore
Founder and Treasurer
Sofia Pescatore, co-founder and treasurer of STEM Discovery, is an aspiring pilot with a strong passion for aeronautical engineering. Her fascination with flight and the mechanics that make it possible inspired her to help launch STEM Discovery as a way to share the excitement of engineering with young students. Through her leadership, Sofia has played a key role in making technical fields such as aeronautics accessible and engaging, especially for students in underserved communities. She hopes to inspire the next generation to explore how engineering can propel them to new heights—literally and figuratively.
James Patchen
Director
James Patchen, an accomplished athlete with a deep fascination for the science behind sports performance, brings a unique perspective to STEM Discovery. Passionate about technology that drives athletic excellence, James strives to inspire young students to explore the powerful intersection of sports and science. Through STEM Discovery, he hopes to introduce students to the innovative tools and principles used in sports science, sparking curiosity about how data, physics, and biology can enhance performance and push human limits.
